While the death of Miss Vera Uwaila, a UNIBEN student who was raped and killed in RCCG church is still being investigated, another female student identified as Bello Mubarak has been stabbed to death in Oyo State after refusing to be raped.

According to one Tunji Olatunji who shared the story on his Facebook page, Miss Bello Mubarak was at the Institute Of Agriculture, Ibadan when some unidentified assailants stormed their home at Oluyole area of Ibadan and got her killed after she refused being raped.

Tunji wrote;

“Now, these times are not funny. Bello Mubarak has fallen too. A student of IRA&T Oluyole, Ìbàdàn. I gathered their home was attacked yesterday afternoon by supposed robbers who tried to finish on a romp.

Mubarak resisted their attempt to rape her and she was stabbed to death. We hope and pray that the perpetrators of this evil will be fished out.”

Father of the deceased, Kasimu Elepo, who spoke with reporters, said that he was not at home when the incident occurred.

He disclosed that the deceased’s sister was also out of the house at the time the tragic incident occurred.

According to him, the victim’s sister found Barakat’s body at the back of the house in a pool of her blood when she returned from Quaranic lessons that fateful day.

He said,

“I was not at home when the incident happened. The younger sister was not at home too, she went for Quaranic lessons but when she returned home, she saw her at the back of the house with deep cuts all over her body. She had been raped and killed.

“Somebody called me on the phone that I should come home but he refused to tell me what happened. When I got home, I saw that my daughter had been raped and stabbed to death.”

Elepo, who could not contain his emotions, revealed that the police in the area had begun an investigation into the matter

The cause of Nigerian music icon, Majekodunmi Fasheke, professionally known as Majek Fashek‘s death has now been revealed

Vanguard News reported that the legendary singer died after battling with cancer for almost a year.

The news of his death was announced by a talent manager, Joy Tongo and was confirmed by Majek Fashek‘s manager, Uzoma Omenka.

His manager revealed he died at 11.45 pm yesterday, June 1, 2020, Nigerian time.

He also noted the singer died in New York, not in London where he was previously receiving treatment.

According to Uzoma the doctors advised he should be moved close to his family, which is the main reason he was relocated to New York where his wife and three sons live.

He also said Majek was separated from his family for 10 years until last year September when they were reunited on the advice of his doctors that he should be close to his family.

“We moved him from London to New York last September on the advice of the doctors that he should stay close to the family. Majek reunited with his family last year after 10 years of separation. He died in their company,” Uzoma said.

Nigerian music legend, Majek Fashek, born March 7, 1963, was 71-year-old when he passed on.

Uzoma, however, said details of his funeral arrangement will be communicated in due time.
